The Case Report is an exported, structured representation of a Case. It consolidates Case information and associated records into a single report, organized similarly to the Case Dossier.
The report is useful for reviewing, referencing, and sharing authorized Case information, particularly for large or complex investigations where information is distributed across multiple record types.
Note: The Case Report is a snapshot of the information available when it is generated. It is not a separate, live Case record. To include updated information, update the Case Dossier or attached records and generate a new Case Report.
What the Case Report Can Include
Depending on the records associated with the Case and the sections selected during export, the Case Report can include:
- Case details
- Subjects and associated Subject records
- OWLdocs
- OWL Imports and OWLvault records
- Notes
- Forms
- Reports
- Tips and Leads
- Tasks
- Data Query Logs
- Case Level Connector Searches
- Monitoring information
- Case-related activities and audit information
- Other Case-related records
This helps organizations to...
- Review complex investigations: Quickly locate and review case details, investigation records, documents, reports, tasks, and other associated information.
- Streamline case documentation: Consolidate case information into a structured report that can be used for review, reference, and reporting.
- Maintain case context: Keep associated records organized under the relevant case, providing investigators and authorized users with a consolidated view of case information.
Generate a Case Report
You can generate a Case Report from the following locations:
Case Dossier
Action menus on the Case View-Edit record list
Query results screen
Select the applicable export option and choose either PDF or XLS.
Before the report is generated, OWL displays the available report sections. Select the sections to include and arrange them in the order needed for the report.
Table of Contents and Navigation
The PDF Case Report includes an automatically generated Table of Contents.
The Table of Contents lists the sections included in the report and their page numbers. No separate configuration is required.
Report Navigation
Section Navigation: Users can click a section in the Table of Contents to navigate directly to the corresponding section in the PDF.
- Back to Index: Users can click Back to Index at the bottom of any page within the report to return to the Table of Contents.
- Case Identification: The Case Name and Case Number are displayed at the bottom of each page, helping users maintain case context while reviewing the report.
Report Options
| Option | Description |
