Investigators and case teams often manage multiple interviews, follow-up activities, evidence collection tasks, and deadlines simultaneously. Tracking these activities through lists alone can make it difficult to understand workload, identify conflicts, or monitor upcoming commitments.
The Calendar View provides a visual, calendar-based interface for viewing and managing all scheduled tasks and events in a single location. It helps users organize their workload, monitor upcoming activities, and quickly identify important deadlines and scheduling conflicts.
Users can:
- View scheduled tasks and events in a calendar layout.
- Switch between Weekly, Monthly, and Yearly calendar views.
- View upcoming tasks and events from the side panel.
- Open a task or event to review its details.
- Edit task or event information (based on user permissions).
- Cancel tasks or modify event schedules when required.
Note: The Calendar View currently supports Current Week, Current Month, and Current Year views.
This can help organizations across multiple industries:
- Insurance Claims Investigations: Schedule claim reviews, inspections, interviews, and follow-up activities while tracking investigator workloads and important claim deadlines.
- Special Investigation Unit (SIU) Cases: Coordinate fraud investigations, recurring review meetings, and specialist assignments through a centralized calendar.
- Criminal Investigations: Schedule interviews, surveillance operations, evidence reviews, court appearances, and warrant deadlines.
- Multi-Agency Operations: Coordinate activities across multiple departments, manage investigator schedules, and improve operational planning for active investigations.
Users can view tasks and events in Today, Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly calendar layouts, open task or event details directly from the calendar, and create new tasks or events as permitted. Any task or event created in the Tasks & Calendar Manager is automatically displayed in the Calendar View based on its scheduled date, ensuring all investigation activities are centrally organized and easy to track.
Note: In the Calendar View, tasks are displayed based on their Due Date, while events are displayed based on the date on which the event was created.
Access to the Calendar View is controlled by the user's assigned role, license, and permissions. The Calendar View displays tasks and events that users are authorized to access.
| Role | Access |
|---|---|
| Administrator | Can view and manage all tasks and events across the organization from the Calendar View. |
| Super Admin | Full access to view and manage all tasks and events across the organization. |

Note: Access to tasks and events is controlled by the user's assigned role and permissions within OWL.
How It Interacts with Other Features
The Calendar View integrates with several OWL modules to provide a centralized scheduling and workload management experience:

Calendar Indicators
The Calendar View uses color-coded indicators to distinguish between different types of scheduled items:
- 🟢 Green – Tasks

- 🔴 Red – Cancelled Events
These visual indicators help users quickly identify tasks, scheduled events, and cancelled events while managing their workload.

Change Calendar View
Use the View selector in the upper-right corner of the Calendar View to switch between the available calendar layouts:
- Today
- Weekly
- Monthly
- Yearly
Today View
The Today View displays all tasks and events scheduled for the current day in a time-based layout. Each scheduled item is shown at its corresponding time, allowing users to quickly review, monitor, and manage the day's activities.
A green horizontal line indicates the current system time, making it easy to distinguish upcoming activities from those that have already occurred. As the current time progresses, any task or event scheduled before the green line is considered past and is no longer displayed in the Upcoming Tasks & Events panel. Only current and future scheduled tasks and events remain visible in the Upcoming Tasks & Events list.
Weekly View
The Weekly view displays all tasks and events scheduled for the current week, providing a consolidated view of upcoming activities to help users plan and manage their workload effectively.
Monthly View
The Monthly View displays all tasks and events scheduled for the current month, providing a consolidated overview of planned activities, deadlines, meetings, and milestones.
Each day displays the tasks and events scheduled for that date. If the number of scheduled items exceeds the available space, a + More link (for example, +3 More or +5 More) is displayed. Select the + More link to view all additional tasks and events scheduled for that day.
Yearly View
The Yearly view displays all tasks and events scheduled throughout the current year, enabling users to view long-term schedules, planned activities, and important milestones across all months.
Each date displays indicators for the number of scheduled tasks and events. When multiple items are scheduled for the same day, users can select the + (More) icon to view the complete list of tasks and events for that date.
Note: The Yearly View displays activities scheduled for the entire current year, not just the current week. Tasks are represented in green, events in orange, and cancelled events in red.
